Calgary's new massive twin towers might be a bad idea

Calgary Twin Towers

Does anyone else think it might be a bad idea to build two massive twin towers next to each other in Calgary?

These 69- and 62-storey Marriott towers are set to become the tallest in Western Canada, dwarfing everything around them.

Jyoti Gondek, to no one's surprise, supports the project and calls it a “massive vote of confidence in Calgary’s future”.

However, Dan McLean, who is against blanket rezoning, is also for this project.

If rezoning is bad for preserving communities (which it is) why is this targeted upzoning for high-end hotels suddenly A-OK?

This isn't responsible development in my opinion.

Be careful who you support Calgary, those who say they will bring change may not bring as much change as we expect them to.
