Nova Scotia's ban on summertime activities is complete government overreach.
While it's understandable the government would ban higher-risk activities such as campfires, banning lower-risk activities such as hiking goes too far.
Additionally, the $25,000 fine for violating the ban is a severe penalty for ordinary citizens who simply want to enjoy the woods.
As Benjamin Franklin once said "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Our governments should choose liberty.
